Tay and Co

Engagement Dinner

Wow time truly flies! We had our engagement dinner back in April at the Le Mont in Pittsburgh. Jonathan's grandparents put on the party for us! It was so fun to get together with family and friends to celebrate. The view of Pittsburgh from the Le Mont is seriously so beautiful. It sits above the entire city.

How cute were the decorations my mother & sister in law made?! I love how they were Tay & Co themed. So perfect for the night since my new last name is Cohen. The centerpieces were Tiffany blue boxes with Tay & Co lettering on the sides. There were balloons attached to the top of each one. Literally adorable! And I got to keep a few which we have scattered around the apartment.

I wanted to be bright & cheerful so I wore a neon pink dress from Kate Spade. I think my favorite part about it was the bow on the back. It was the perfect party dress! The night started with cocktails which was a great way to catch up with everyone before dinner. After we all were seated a lot of the guests stood up to tell stories about the couple to be. It was so fun to hear encouragement from all the people we love the most! Dinner was AMAZING! I've been to the Le Mont before for other dinner parties Jonathan's family has put on and the food is always so good. I usually get the fillet and mashed potatoes.

A bunch of our friends came to our apartment afterwards to finish the night out at the bars in Shadyside! Overall the night was perfect! We are so blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives. I loved all the pictures we took that night too. Everyone had a great time!

I'm so glad I was finally able to get the pictures & recap of our Engagement dinner up! The next wedding event recap will be of the bridal shower. Get excited!!

Finally a Mrs.

We are finally married! It's crazy to say that after a little over two years of being engaged, we are finally husband and wife. So obviously leading up to the wedding there were so many events that I didn't have a chance to post about. We had our engagement dinner, my bridal shower, bachelorette party and then the BIG day! After the wedding we also spent our honeymoon in Antigua.

So I figured I will do some catching up with each event leading up to the wedding these next few weeks. Now that I finally have a chance to breath I really want to focus on creating more content! Starting with wedding adventures and of course sharing millions of photos.

Did anyone else feel a little relieved after they got married?! I literally feel like a huge weight is lifted off my shoulders and now I need a hobby! Get excited for all the details!

Miss Remi the Frenchie

As many people have seen from my endless snaps & Instagram posts... we got a puppy! The newest Cohen addition is Remi the Frenchie. The cutest little thing I have ever seen. Jonathan actually surprised me with her at the end of March. She even had a little pink bow on her head! For a few weeks only one of her ears stood up (adorable) but since then they have both popped up! I really was worried that we might have to tape them to stand up.. that could have been embarrassing.

So far in the first month she's shown us that she has quite the personality. She loves major cuddle time when she isn't running around the apartment. Remi is also a pro at the side eye. French Bulldogs are known to be very social which has definitely held true with Miss. Remi. She will literally run up to anyone she sees to say hi. Quite the little charmer.

It has definitely been a whirlwind becoming a dog mom so quickly. We had to go out and buy all the supplies, complete with a pink rhinestone collar. She is so spoiled already...oops. In true dog mom fashion of course Miss Remi needed a monthly subscription box! Kai Krates is an affordable dog subscription box that is priced as low as $15/month. Kai Krates comes with 2-3 toys and 2-4 chews each month. I think the best part about a monthly subscription box is that you almost forget about it until it arrives. You don't even have to worry about replacing treats and toys because they are literally delivered to you each month.

Miss Remi has a coupon code for you to get 25% off your first month with the code: "REMI". I can't wait to get Remi signed up for these so she can start receiving her monthly boxes!

So far I've learned being a dog mom is exhausting! I mean obviously she isn't a child but it really feels like it. I think the first week we had her I literally didn't sleep. But now we have her on more of a schedule and she is sleeping through the night! #prouddogmom

If anything I guess we are learning to be more responsible? Probably necessary.. but it is definitely super fun having a bestie by my side all day.

Make sure to follow Remi's adventures on her Instagram account @missremithefrenchie !

Lindsay Nichole Designs

I may have missed my calling as an interior decorator.. seriously! HGTV has been playing at my apartment non stop. I've always loved unique art pieces to add flair to any room. So today I have teamed up with Lindsay Nichole Designs to showcase some of her pieces that I'm obsessing over.

If you don't live in Texas you can pretend right? I LOVE the show Friday Night Lights #TeamRiggins. The Turquoise is perfect to pop on any gallery wall.

It has finally started to feel like spring in Pittsburgh so I was immediately drawn to this print. I love the bright colors and the skirt is so fun.. I want it in real life!

This print inspires me to be a jetsetter! I love how it shows a variety of places plus it could be a good conversation starter for guests.

She is also running a Spring Sale right now. Enter the code SPRING16 for an additional 10% off of sale items!

10 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Hate on Greek Life

With all of the negative media surrounding Greek Life today it's easy for people who were never involved to jump in. Being a very active member of the Greek community in college I've put together 10 reasons why you shouldn't hate on Greek Life.

1. Philanthropy

I did more service and volunteer hours in college than I have at any other point in my life. As a member of a sorority we were required to have a certain number of service hours each semester. We also raised thousands of dollars for our own philanthropies and many others in the Greek community.

2. Academics

Academics are extremely important to greeks. Each sorority or fraternity has academic requirements a member has to hit in order to be an active member. Our chapter had a Scholarship chair that organized study tables and incentives to get good grades. Study nights at the sorority house were always a good time.

3. Leadership

Greek life gives you the opportunity to take on leadership positions within your organization. President, Social Standards, Apparel, Archives, Rituals, and countless others each elected annually. Taking on a larger role within your sorority or fraternity can help prepare you for the "real world." You delegate tasks, are held accountable, attend meetings, plan events and so much more.

4. Small Talk

This seems silly but after doing 4 years of Formal Recruitment I think I could sit in a room with anyone and be able to carry on a good conversation. I know any fellow sorority girl would agree. Small talk is a skill you are forced to use on a daily basis and this skill is definitely perfected through the recruitment process.

5. Networking

With an extensive reach of alumnae all over the country the networking possibilities are endless. Alumnae are always willing to help with that phone call or extra recommendation to get you the job. Chances are at some point in life your resume will end up in the hands of someone who was also involved in Greek life. That common link is an instant advantage.

6. Panhellenic

Not only do you form connections with women in your own sorority but you find friendships within all of them. Many events involve coming together as a community to raise money or awareness. My family is the perfect picture of being Panhellenic as we all joined different sororities. No matter the letters we're all Greek together.

7. Tradition

Greek life has a sense of tradition hundreds of years old. Each year a new group of women or men learn these traditions that have been passed down. The crest, badge, songs, rituals are all special to each organization. You are a part of something that is so much bigger than yourself.

8. Friendship

I have made countless friendships through Greek life. Starting school I think every college freshman wants to find that core group of friends. Once you go through recruitment and get a bid it's like having instant best friends. Lasting friendships that truly are -- not four years, but for life.

9. Legacy

Not only do you leave your legacy with your chapter after you graduate but to your little sister or future daughter.  It is so exciting to think that one day someone could follow in your footsteps and share your rituals and traditions. How many other organizations can you have a legacy in?

10. Sisterhood

The bond of sisterhood is eternal. I have been forever touched and blessed to have the gift of sisterhood. Sisters like my anchor angel Ali are the reason I am proud to be a member of Greek life.

Bonus: I even ended up meeting my future husband through Greek Life!

Chrissy's Knee High Socks

Who doesn't love a great pair of socks? With the holidays just around the corner Chrissy's Knee High Socks has many fun pairs to choose from! Perfect for a fun stocking stuffer. I picked out four colorful pairs: Argyle, Tube, Designer, and Holiday!

The pink & gray argyle I paired with a cozy pink sweater! Perfect to lounge and watch Lifetime.

The black & gold tube socks are so Pittsburgh. I wore these to show some Steeler spirit on gameday!

The designer plaid screamed by name because I'm obsessed with the Burberry print. I paired them with some brown wedged booties. They would also look super cute with my Burberry rainboots!

After we put the Christmas tree up in our apartment I was definitely feeling the Christmas spirit! These Christmas light socks are perfect for the entire month of December!

Which pair is your favorite?!
